Our AML and Verification Policy

We hold licence 8048/JAZ2021-169 from Curaçao eGaming, and that licence comes with strict anti-money-laundering and know-your-customer obligations. This page explains, in plain terms, what we check, when we check it, and what we need from you.

Our Commitment to AML Rules

Money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud are criminal offences in every jurisdiction we operate from, and we treat them as such. Under our Curaçao eGaming licence (8048/JAZ2021-169), we maintain a full anti-money-laundering programme run by a designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer and their team.

That programme covers customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting and staff training. We do not accept deposits from third parties, we do not process withdrawals to accounts or wallets that do not belong to you, and we report suspicious activity to the relevant financial intelligence authority.

When We Verify Your Account

Verification points

We verify identity at three points: at registration, where we screen your details against sanction and politically-exposed-person lists; at your first withdrawal; and at any point when your deposits or withdrawals reach thresholds that trigger enhanced due diligence under our licence conditions.

  • Government-issued photo ID (passport, driver licence or national ID card)
  • Proof of address dated within the last 3 months (utility bill, bank statement or tenancy agreement)
  • Proof of payment method ownership (card photo with middle digits covered, or a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet address)

How Verification Works

The process is straightforward and usually finished within 24 to 72 hours of us receiving clear documents. Here is what happens, step by step.

  • Upload your documents through the secure verification section of your account.
  • Our compliance team checks each document for validity, expiry and consistency with your account details.
  • If anything is unclear, we contact you by email at [email protected] and tell you exactly what is missing.
  • Once approved, your withdrawal limits lift to the standard 8,000 AUD per day and 16,000 AUD per week.
  • You receive written confirmation when verification is complete.

How we protect your documents

Documents are stored on encrypted servers with access restricted to our compliance team. We never share your verification data with third parties except where we are legally required to do so by our regulator or by a competent authority.

When We Ask for Source of Funds

If your deposit pattern is unusually large relative to your history, or if monitoring flags a transaction that does not fit your profile, we may ask you to show where the money came from. This is not an accusation; it is a legal obligation under our licence.

Acceptable evidence includes recent payslips, a tax return, bank statements showing regular income, a sale contract for property or shares, or documentation of an inheritance. Once we review it, we confirm in writing whether your account returns to normal status.

How We Monitor Transactions

Every deposit and withdrawal on our platform passes through automated and manual checks. We screen for structuring (splitting large amounts into smaller ones), rapid deposit-and-withdraw cycles with minimal play, and transfers involving sanctioned countries or persons.

Withdrawals go back to the same method you used to deposit wherever that method supports it. If you deposited by PayID, card or crypto, we return funds to that same channel. The minimum deposit and withdrawal is 20 AUD, and we do not charge fees on either side.

If Verification Fails

If you do not provide the requested documents within 30 days, or if the documents fail our checks, we suspend withdrawals on the account. Deposits may also be blocked where the risk warrants it, and we will tell you why in writing.

Where we have reasonable suspicion of money laundering, fraud or use of a third party's payment method, we are obliged to freeze the account and report the matter to the authorities. In those cases we cannot release funds until the investigation closes, and we may be legally prevented from telling you that a report was made.

How Long We Keep Records

We retain verification documents and transaction records for at least five years after your account closes, as required under Curaçao eGaming rules. Retention lets us answer regulator queries and cooperate with lawful investigations.

Once the retention period expires and no legal hold applies, we delete or anonymise your documents. If you close your account and want confirmation of deletion timing, contact [email protected] and our compliance team will confirm the applicable date.

Funbet Casino FAQ

Do I need to verify before I can deposit?

No. You can register and deposit without full verification, but we must complete KYC before your first withdrawal. We may also verify earlier if your activity reaches certain thresholds.

How long does verification take at Funbet Casino?

Most checks are completed within 24 to 72 hours of receiving clear, valid documents. If something is missing or unreadable, we contact you by email straight away.

Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?

No. We operate a same-method rule, so funds return to the card, e-wallet or crypto wallet you used to deposit. This protects you against fraud and third-party access.

Why are you asking about my source of funds?

Our licence requires enhanced due diligence when deposits are unusually large or inconsistent with your profile. A payslip, bank statement or tax return is normally enough to clear the check.

What happens to my documents after verification?

They are stored on encrypted servers with access limited to our compliance team, and retained for at least five years after account closure before secure deletion.
